mean, again, why do you have to choose apple or samsung? sell shelves during the gold rush and sell chains during the smartphone wars. that's the way to go, and qualcomm just raised their dividend. a good buyback plan now. they are terrific. >> i've got a question for you. you do a lot of asset allocation, keep talking about the great rotation going over five years. are you starting to advise your clients to lighten up on bonds and go more into equities or just sticking with equities? how do you see that? >> asset allocation for wealthy individuals includes everything so we have stocks, bonds, a lot of cash. wealthy individuals hold over 25% cash generally. >> are you moving more out of bonds into equities as a lot of people are talking about? >> we've had a lot of buy and hold bonds. had great bonds that we bought three years ago. you won't get the coupon when the bonds mature so as the bonds mature you really have to look at where else can you get yield and, unfortunately, you won't get the yield in the high grade corporate bonds. you have to be careful in credit quality and maste

in a growing sector. so they don't have to beat the pants off of samsung at this level. what they have to do is keep participating in the movement of smartphones, of ipads, of computer, computer mobile computing. and they have got lots of room to go in china. they come out with any kind of catalyst, a cheaper iphone for china, or apple tv, there is so many possible catalysts that will send this stock, maybb back to 500. maybe a little more. we think it is cheap right here. liz: john, i didn't mean to characterize you as bearish but you're out there investing as well, but defensively in what? >> correct. that's the case. we are not bear. we think as the market goes higher we want to take a few chips off the table and posture our portfolio more defensively and sectors like healthcare, we like the vanguard health care etf. symbol vht. we like the energy sector but like to play it defensively also. we like mlp and energy income fund. we're still in emerging markets. we want to be more conservative. we like the matthews asia growth and income fund. we're defensive but doing it more --. david: cur

. it's meant to be out there competing with samsung devices and also apple products. wile we've son-in-lonly about t sold here at this story, there are still a lot of blackberry fans out there that are praising this device. >> blackberries have always had the best keyboards, but the way they implemented this with swooip with auto complete is pretty cool. the way to peek at your key hub, and the integration with facebook and twitter. so you can have a hub of all your interactions is, i think, a neat feature. >> now, as that gentleman said, obviously, there are a lot of users out there that are noticing these differences and it's blackberry who are hoping they'll like it and embrace the phone and hopefully pick up a little bit of market share. but just as the z-10 is making its debut, there are also reports out that apple is going to be coming out with the iphone 5s and the ipad 5. that would be on june 29th, according to those reports. so the smartphone wars are really far from over. and i want to mention that blackberry shares are down significantly this afternoon, more than 8%. bil

it could possibly -- what an iwatch could look like. googles is doing this. samsung says they want to get in the game. you know, the idea is do we actually know that this is happening? we have an idea that perhaps it is, but we don't know exactly when it's happening and when we can have them on our wrist. but there are smart watches out there. sony has one out there. there are ones you can actually go get but if you want the iwatch it's not confirmed and we have no date of launch right now. >> i know people who now who don't wear watches. they just use their cell phones. i feel naked without my watch. i'm a tra traditiditionallist. do you think this is the next big thing? >> i use my phone. i don't really wear a watch. you know, so i think it's the kind of thing you have to put out this technology and see how people are going to use it. are people going to be wearing the google glasses? we'll see. maybe more people would wear a smart watch than smart glasses. the idea is that technology is just expanding past your smartphone and it's going to be a matter of who can put out a good concept

is blackberry's device looking to compete with samsung and also with apple. its completely touch screen and lost that keyboard that so many users like. according to com score blackberry has 8% of the smartphone market compared with 50% with android and 34% with apple. blackberry used to have 39% of the share. we do have one of the phones here. looking at it earlier. obviously it's sleek. it's got that 4.2-inch screen, the touch screen that we talked about. it's got an 8 megapixel camera. doesn't have a lot of buttons on it, nothing like the iphone with the home screen and, of course, can you see that it's got the icons for the ap pz as well. 100 apps available at the digital store where there's 700 in the case of the iphone. simon, over to you. >> do you like it, jackie? >> reporter: you know, i liked it, but i think it's going to take a little getting used to. i do have an ipad, used the iphone of friends of mine. intuitively different, tried to make it different on purpose so i think it will take a while to get used to. >> the view on blackberry sales. let's check the bond market at the cme, m
